Our landscape design team created a beautiful, highly personalized, garden for the owner of this characterful cottage set in the rear of a Berkeley property.
Using a palette of soft blues and muted greens, we transformed a former driveway into a series of outdoor spaces accessed through an artful, welded entry gate.
Custom-made steel planters and a poured-in-place concrete bench define a dining area. Antique Indonesian panels were incorporated into an inviting outdoor shower, while chairs grouped around a fire-pit make for a perfect spot to socialize as the sun goes down.
The finishing touch was to paint the cottage in the same hues as the garden, and to build a new, second-story wraparound deck on the house so that the owner can enjoy looking down over the garden, taking in its careful composition and profusion of fine-looking dry succulents.
